Product Information

Name:
Bromo-PEG2-bromide
Description:

Bromo-PEG2-bromide is a macrocyclic compound that is used as an inhibitor. It binds to chloride ions and inhibits the transport of chloride ions across cell membranes by competing with the chloride ion for binding sites on the membrane. Bromo-PEG2-bromide has been shown to inhibit activity in catalysed reactions, such as inhibition of the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to a substrate molecule. Bromo-PEG2-bromide can be used in organic synthesis due to its nucleophilic character and selectivity towards alkylation on specific functional groups. Bromo-PEG2-bromide has been shown to be effective at inhibiting ruthenium catalyzed reactions when transferred into reaction solution.
