Methyl cyclohept-1-ene-1-carboxylate is used for the treatment of cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. It binds to the DNA at specific sites and blocks the formation of histones by inhibiting the transfer of methyl groups. This process leads to changes in gene expression and cellular proliferation.
