NSC 87877 is a chemical inhibitor that inhibits the activity of protein kinase C (PKC). It has been shown to inhibit the tyrosine phosphatase, leading to neuronal death. The PKC inhibitors have been shown to decrease cellular proliferation and induce cell cycle arrest by interfering with signal pathways.
