2-(2-Phenylethoxy)acetic acid is an oleylethanolamide that has been shown to have antibacterial activity. It has been shown to activate lysosomal hydrolases and inhibit the growth of bacterial cells. 2-(2-Phenylethoxy)acetic acid also inhibits the synthesis of inflammatory molecules, such as leukotrienes, prostaglandins, and cytokines. This drug is a potent inhibitor of phospholipase A2 and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
