3-Dehydro-15-deoxoeucosterol is a bicolor, triterpenoid that has been found to have anticancer properties. 3-Dehydro-15-deoxoeucosterol inhibits cancer cell growth and induces apoptosis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of luteinizing hormone and increase the production of progesterone. 3-Dehydro-15-deoxoeucosterol is a glycoside of the lanostane triterpene lanosterol and it has been shown to contain antiangiogenic activities that are related to its ability to inhibit protein kinase C. This compound can also be found in Hyacinthaceae and Eucomis.
