Product Information
Omomycin is an aminoglycoside that is used as a conditioning agent to prevent the production of antibodies against antigens in vaccines. Omomycin binds to the receptor protein on the surface of virus and prevents it from entering cells. It also has minimal inhibitory concentrations for influenza virus strains A/Taiwan/1/86, A/Hokkaido/6/06, A/Hong Kong/3/73, and B/Lee-11. This antibiotic also has antiviral properties that are effective against avian influenza viruses in chickens. Omomycin can be used as a prophylactic agent to treat animals infected with food poisoning caused by bacteria such as Clostridium perfringens.
