This inhibition prevents degradative processes from occurring within cells and leads to an increase in autophagy. AZD3463 also inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathways and activates tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and p21. Pharmacokinetic properties have been studied in mice, rats, and cynomolgus monkeys.
