Urolithin D is a naturally occurring compound found in foods such as pomegranates, apples, and grapes. Urolithin D has been shown to stimulate autophagy, which may be due to its ability to induce mitochondrial functions. This compound also has been shown to inhibit cancer cell proliferation in vitro assays and prostate cancer cells by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor. Urolithin D has been shown to inhibit the activity of ellagitannins, hydroxide solution, and glycosidic bonds.
