Dihydroartemisinin is a drug that is used to treat malaria. It is a mixture of αlpha and β-isomers. It has been shown to be cytotoxic in vitro and in vivo, with significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells as well as minimal toxicity for non-cancer cells. Dihydroartemisinin also has significant activity against infectious diseases, including malaria and tuberculosis.
