Description:
4-(2,4,6-Trichlorophenyl)-3-thiosemicarbazide (TCPT) is a ligand that can be used to form metal complexes. It has high thermal stability and forms square planar complexes with metal cations. The diffraction pattern and elemental analyses of the compound show it has a square planar structure. The magnetic susceptibility of TCTP is also high. TCTP is in the formulae class of chelates and has biological activity as well as being magnetic and thermally stable.
