Description:

BAY 41-2272 is a cyclase inhibitor that blocks the production of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). It has been shown to inhibit the activity of the α1 subunit of phosphodiesterase, which is involved in the production of cAMP. BAY 41-2272 has been shown to have pharmacological effects in vitro, such as inhibiting cell proliferation, and physiological effects, such as decreasing blood pressure. BAY 41-2272 also inhibits signal pathways in mammalian cells, such as protein kinase A (PKA) and mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs).
