PF 04217903 mesylate is a factor receptor inhibitor that inhibits the transcription of insulin-like growth factor and epidermal growth factor. It is used in the treatment of neoplastic disease, such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer. PF 04217903 mesylate also inhibits angiogenesis by inhibiting the expression of transcription factors that are involved in this process. These effects may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of erythropoietin and other proangiogenic molecules. PF 04217903 mesylate has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells in vitro and in vivo.
