HiGom is a venom that belongs to the group of proteins that can produce reactive oxygen species. It has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential, cellular viability, and the production of reactive oxygen species. HiGom has also been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines in response to chronic pain. This protein may be useful for cancer treatment as it has been shown to inhibit tumor growth by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis.
