Product Information
Maleimide-DOTA is a radionuclide that can be used for the treatment of cancer. Maleimide-DOTA is a molecule with two functional groups, one of which is an epidermal growth factor (EGF) and the other is a maleimide group. This molecule can bind to the EGFR receptor on tumor cells and then be internalized into the cells by endocytosis. The maleimide group can then react with DOTA to generate positron emission tomography (PET) contrast agents. These PET contrast agents have been shown to have high uptake and specificity in tumor xenografts in mice.
