Product Information
Carbetocin, also known as acetate carbetocin, is a potent activator of the mu-opioid receptor. It has been shown to activate ion channels and inhibit ligand-gated ion channels. Carbetocin is an agonist of the mu-opioid receptor, which is responsible for pain relief and a reduction in gastrointestinal motility. The affinity of carbetocin to the mu-receptor is approximately three times greater than morphine. Carbetocin also activates potassium and calcium channels in some neurons. Carbetocin has been used as a research tool to study protein interactions, receptor binding, peptide chemistry, and antibody production.
