Product Information
(E)-4-Fluorobenzaldehyde oxime is an aldehyde that is synthesized by the reaction of aniline and hydroxylamine. It has been shown to be a more efficient method for making amides than the traditional method of reacting amines with acid chlorides. The reaction time for this synthesis can be shortened by adding additives such as water, alcohols, or ammonia. (E)-4-Fluorobenzaldehyde oxime can also be recycled and used in food chemistry as a preservative and antioxidant. The imine formed in this synthesis reacts with hydrogen bonding interactions to form an amide. This compound contains both hydroxyl groups and carboxylic acid functional groups that are characterized by their acidic properties.
