It has been shown to be a film forming polymer with a number of functional groups and has been used as a fixative agent for acrylonitrile. Propan-2-yl 2-sulfanylacetate has also been shown to have anti psychotic effects in patients with chronic schizophrenia, and may be due to its primary amino group.
