Indium(III) fluoride is an inorganic compound that is a polyhedron of the orthophosphoric acid anion. It has a crystalline structure with hydrogen bonding between molecules and polyhedral units, which results in a high melting point. Indium(III) fluoride has been used to synthesize imidazole derivatives, such as 2-methylindenyl fluoride, by reacting it with ammonia or methyl amines. The compound shows fluorescence and proton NMR spectra and has been used as a molecular probe for hydrogen bonds. Indium(III) fluoride is also centrosymmetric.
