PCBs bind to fatty acid receptors, causing an increase in epidermal growth factor (EGF). PCBs also inhibit P450 activity and induce sephadex g-100 binding protein 78 (Grp78) and biphenyl. This may be due to their ability to form a covalent bond with the hydroxyl group on Grp78 and biphenyl.
