2-(2-Bromophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazole is an aryl boronic acid that can be synthesized by a Suzuki reaction with an alkyl halide and sodium carbonate. This compound is used as a reagent in organic synthesis for the production of various pharmaceuticals. The most common use of this chemical is for the synthesis of angiotensin II antagonists. 2-(2-Bromophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazole has also been shown to be a selective antagonist of angiotensin II type 1 receptors.
