Description:
2,4,4',5-Tetrachlorobiphenyl (2,4,5-TCB) is a polychlorinated biphenyl and a metabolite of hexane. It can cause hepatocyte damage and is genotoxic. 2,4,5-TCB activates the CYP1A1 gene in V79 cells. The activated CYP1A1 enzyme then synthesizes reactive intermediates that lead to apoptotic or necrotic cell death.
