Description:
2,4-Diethyl-1,5-pentanediol is an organic solvent that is used in coatings and emulsions. It is also used as a polymerization inhibitor in reactions involving polybasic compounds. 2,4-Diethyl-1,5-pentanediol has been shown to be a good penetrant in organic solvents such as deionized water and oil solutions. This solvent also has the ability to react with monocarboxylic acids to form esters. 2,4-Diethyl-1,5-pentanediol can be neutralized with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.
