This product was also found to undergo cross-coupling reactions in the presence of tetraarylboranes or aldehydes. 2BMgBr is used in devices such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic field effect transistors (OFETs). It is also used as a luminescent material for crystallography studies.
