Product Information
Methyl pseudolarate A is a cycloalkyl compound that has been isolated from the fungus Pseudolarix kaempferi. It has shown anti-fungal activity in vitro and in vivo against pathogenic fungi such as Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Aspergillus fumigatus. The antifungal activity of methyl pseudolarate A is likely due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an important component of the cell membrane in fungi. Methyl pseudolarate A also shows antitumor activity by inhibiting the production of RNA and protein synthesis. This may be related to its ability to inhibit ribosome function.
