It has antifungal and antitumor activities and can be used in chemotherapeutic treatments for cancer. It also has been shown to inhibit the growth of yeast cells. Methyl pseudolarate B inhibits the synthesis of RNA by binding to RNA polymerase II. This prevents transcription of the DNA into mRNA and its translation into protein.
