Cervinomycin A2 is a secondary metabolite, which is produced by the fungus Cervinomyces sp. It has been identified as a potent inhibitor of bacterial cell growth and is used as a reference material in the research and development of drugs. Cervinomycin A2 has been found to be an active antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Bacillus anthracis, and Enterococcus faecalis. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. This compound is bioactive and can be isolated from the natural product Planta'sia corymbosa.
