Description:
RU 24969 Succinate is a selective 5-HT1A receptor agonist. It inhibits the uptake of serotonin, which in turn increases extracellular levels of serotonin. This drug has been shown to produce hyperactivity in animals and humans. RU 24969 Succinate also has an inhibitory effect on blood pressure and locomotor activity, leading to hypotension and sedation. The mechanism of action for these effects is not fully understood, but may be due to its interaction with 5-HT2 receptors.
