Product Information

Name:
ZD8321
Description:

ZD8321 is a peptide that binds to the α2-adrenergic receptor, which is found in many tissues including the heart and blood vessels. ZD8321 activates the receptor and increases cAMP production, leading to vasodilation and increased blood flow. In addition, ZD8321 can inhibit L-type voltage-gated calcium channels and potassium channels, affecting cell membrane potential. ZD8321 has also been shown to improve learning and memory in animal models by increasing NMDA receptor function.

ZD 8321 is a potent inhibitor of the α2-adrenergic receptor (AR) with IC50 of 0.5 nM (in vitro), with negligible activity against other GPCRs tested at 100 µM concentrations. Furthermore, it has no effect on β1-ARs at 1 µM concentration and only inhibits β2-ARs with an IC50 of 10 µM.
