Description:(R)-5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is a ligand which binds to the 5HT1 receptor. It is a selective agonist at the 5HT1A receptor and has been shown to inhibit antibody production by B cells in rats. (R)-5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide is an inhibitor of phospholipase C, which leads to activation of protein kinase C and inhibition of the inositol triphosphate pathway. This drug activates ion channels and has been used as a research tool for cell biology, peptides, pharmacology, and ligand binding studies. (R)-5-Hydroxy-DPAT hydrobromide also interacts with proteins involved in cell signaling pathways and receptor binding.
