Description:
TR-14035 is a monoclonal antibody that is directed against the human eosinophil peroxidase. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of asthma and bowel disease. TR-14035 blocks the uptake of IgE, an immunoglobulin involved in allergic reactions, by binding to its receptor on eosinophils. This prevents IgE from binding to mast cells and basophils, which prevents the release of inflammatory substances such as histamine. TR-14035 also inhibits neutrophil migration and prevents inflammation in animal models of inflammatory bowel disease.
