Description:3-[2-[4-(1,2-Benzisoxazol-3-yl)-1-piperidinyl]ethyl]-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-2-methyl-4H-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one is an analog of the antibacterial drug cefuroxime. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. This compound has been shown to have a greater degree of activity against Gram Positive bacteria than Gram Negative bacteria in vitro. 3-[2-[4-(1,2-Benzisoxazol-3-yl)-1-piperidinyl]ethyl]-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-- 2 -methyl-- 4H-- pyrido[1,2-- a]pyrimidin-- 4 -one is not active against acid
