Product Information

Name:
(±)-2-Hydroxy-1-Methoxyaporphine
Description:

(±)-2-Hydroxy-1-methoxyaporphine is a drug that inhibits the uptake of glucose and other sugars by cells, which is mediated by a transporter type. It inhibits the shikimate pathway, an enzyme system that produces aromatic amino acids, in plants. This compound also has an inhibitory effect on the liver, preventing it from metabolizing other drugs. The inhibition of this enzyme system may lead to a decrease in plasma concentrations of some drugs, which can cause drug interactions. (±)-2-Hydroxy-1-methoxyaporphine has been shown to have an insulin-stimulated glucose effect in humans and animals. This compound elutes at 3 minutes on reverse phase HPLC with an acid catalyst.
