• Description: N-Cyano-N'-methyl-N''-[2-[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)methylsulphinyl]ethyl]guanidine is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor that is used to treat Alzheimer's disease. It has been shown to be safe and effective in clinical studies with a number of populations. The drug binds to the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which breaks down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. This action prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine, leading to increased levels of this chemical in the brain and improved function.
