Product Information
- Erbium oxalate hydrate
- Erbium Ethanedioate (2:3)
- Triacetoxyerbium Hydrate
Erbium oxalate hydrate is a chemical compound that is used as a phosphor in the production of light emitting diodes (LED). It emits visible light upon excitation by radiation or other sources. Erbium oxalate hydrate is produced by the reaction of erbium oxide with sodium citrate and lanthanum oxide in a reaction vessel. The erbium oxalate hydrate crystals are then heated to remove water vapor and are dried under vacuum. This product has a functional group of oxalate, which is a five-membered cyclic anhydride of carbonic acid. Another name for this product is gadolinium oxide. It reacts with water vapor to form an oxide, gadolinium oxide, which is stable in air and moisture.
