The cyclohexenyl group in 1,2-dimethylpropylbenzene can be converted to an alkene group by alkylation with acetylene. The linear regression analysis showed that the toolkit of 1,2-dimethylpropylbenzene isomerization reactions are useful for the synthesis of many different compounds and provide a better understanding of their reactivity.
