Description:N-Desmethyltoremifene is an anti-estrogen that has been shown to have genotoxic effects. It inhibits DNA synthesis and protein synthesis in human breast cancer cells. N-Desmethyltoremifene is a potent inducer of CYP3A4, which metabolizes many drugs. This drug also binds to α1-acid glycoprotein, which can lead to reduced plasma concentrations and pharmacokinetics. N-Desmethyltoremifene has been shown to inhibit the growth of renal cell carcinoma in animals, but not normal tissue, at high doses.
