Di(N-desethyl) amiodarone hydrochloride is an impurity of Amiodarone Hydrochloride, which is a drug that is used to treat and prevent serious ventricular arrhythmias. Di(N-desethyl) amiodarone hydrochloride can be synthesized from the corresponding parent compound by desmethylation with trifluoroacetic acid.
