Product Information
Dihydrosesamin is a naturally occurring hypophosphite that has been found in the food composition of Pinoresinol. It has been used to synthesize dihydrocubebin and trisubstituted enantiomers. The chemical name for Dihydrosesamin is 2,2'-Dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl-4,4'-diphosphonic acid. Dihydrosesamin is a white crystalline solid with a melting point of about 195 degrees Celsius. It can be obtained from trifluoroacetic acid and pinoresinol by reacting with an organic solvent such as chloroform or dichloromethane. Dihydrosesamin exhibits antidiarrheal effects in animal studies and has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on gastrointestinal motility.
