Description:KPT-185 is a novel pro-apoptotic agent that selectively induces cell death in cancer cells resistant to platinum chemotherapy. KPT-185 kills tumor cells by inducing apoptosis through inhibition of the anti-apoptotic protein survivin. The drug also has minimal toxicity in mice, which may be due to its lack of effect on energy metabolism or transcriptional regulation. In addition, KPT-185 has been shown to have minimal toxicity in leukemic mice and does not cause significant changes in mouse tumor size or weight, indicating that it is well tolerated by normal tissues.
