Product Information
ST034307 is a selective inhibitor of adenylyl cyclase that is used in research to study the physiology of sarcoplasmic reticulum. ST034307 blocks the activity of adenylyl cyclases by binding to the catalytic site and preventing ATP from binding, thereby inhibiting hormone release. It has been shown to inhibit the antinociceptive effects of morphine in mice. ST034307 also inhibits cholesterol ester transfer, which may be related to its ability to reduce cholesterol levels in mammalian cells. This drug has been shown to have a negative effect on cardiovascular function and was found to cause cardiac hypertrophy in Sprague-Dawley rats.
ST034307 is being investigated as an anti-obesity agent because it inhibits the accumulation of body fat in mice that are genetically engineered with a deficiency in lipoprotein lipase (LPL).
