Description:MG-115 is a proteasome inhibitor that blocks the degradation of proteins by inhibiting the activity of the 20S and 26S proteasomes. MG-115 has been shown to inhibit transfection experiments in neuronal death, and to induce apoptosis in carcinoma cell lines. It also inhibits proteolytic enzymes, oxidative injury, and antimicrobial agents by blocking the ubiquitin ligases that target these proteins for degradation. MG-115 also inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and induces Mcl-1 protein expression.
