Description:Z-Leu-Leu-Phe-cho is a synthetic conjugate that has been shown to protect against HIV infection in an experimental model. Z-Leu-Leu-Phe-cho is a glycopolymer that inhibits the expression of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) on the surface of cells, thereby preventing activation of the TLR4 signalling cascade. This reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines, which may be involved in cancer and other diseases. The effective dose was found to be 1 mg/kg by intravenous injection in Sprague Dawley rats.
