• Description: CYN 154806 is a novel anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor and has a neuroprotective effect. It also prevents the activation of microglia, which are cells of the central nervous system responsible for immune defense. CYN 154806 is membrane permeable and can inhibit the transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in mouse hippocampal tissue and human macrophages. CYN 154806 has been shown to have a low bioavailability and a short half-life, making it difficult to measure its pharmacokinetic properties in vivo. However, CYN 154806 does not appear to be toxic at high doses.
