Product Information
MBM 55 is an anti-cancer drug that inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) kinase activity. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human cancer cell lines in vitro and in vivo, as well as to induce apoptotic cell death in tumor xenografts. MBM 55 binds to the ATP-binding site of EGFR and prevents the phosphorylation of tyrosine residues on the receptor. This inhibition leads to a decrease in cellular proliferation and increased apoptosis.
MBM 55 is a potent inhibitor of EGFR kinase activity with IC50 values of 0.7 nM for EGF-induced activation and 1.2 nM for EGF-induced Tyr1173 phosphorylation, which is approximately 10 times more potent than gefitinib or erlotinib.
