Description:N-Methyl-N-(3-chloropropyl)homoveratrylamine is a chlorinated alkylating agent that has been shown to accumulate in the myocardium. It is an anaesthetic that can be recycled and used as a nutrient. N-Methyl-N-(3-chloropropyl)homoveratrylamine binds to DNA, which blocks the synthesis of RNA and protein. This drug has been demonstrated to have antiarrhythmic effects, but it is not effective against cardiac arrhythmias caused by digitalis or hypoxia. N-Methyl-N-(3-chloropropyl)homoveratrylamine also has an antagonist effect on the central nervous system and may be useful for treating convulsions.
