Description:Methyl mycophenolate impurity E is a reactive, propargylamine-containing, monosodium salt with immunosuppressive properties. It is used in the treatment of cancer by inhibiting the production of white blood cells, which are needed to fight infection. Methyl mycophenolate impurity E has shown antitumor activity and can be used for the treatment of some types of cancer. It is metabolized in vivo to methyl mycophenolate and inhibits protein synthesis by alkylating DNA.
