Description:PFM01 is a glycopeptide that inhibits the synthesis of laminin, a protein that is required for cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion. PFM01 has been shown to inhibit radiation-induced damage in cells, as well as neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. PFM01 binds to the enzyme transglutaminase 2 (TG2) and prevents it from crosslinking proteins to form amyloid fibrils. The compound also inhibits the growth of tumor cells through homologous recombination and acts as a radiosensitizer.
