Product Information

Name:
9-o-Methyl-4-hydroxyboeravinone B
Description:

9-o-Methyl-4-hydroxyboeravinone B (9O-MeHB) is a natural compound that inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to apoptosis. 9O-MeHB has been shown to induce cell death in human cancer cell lines and HIV infected cells. The extract of this compound was shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and suppress hiv replication. 9O-MeHB also showed antiviral activity against HIV by inhibiting Tat and Rev protein expression, which are proteins involved in the viral life cycle. 9O-MeHB was found to be cytotoxic to lymphocytes, as well as inhibit proliferation of T cells and B cells, suggesting it may be effective in treating cancer or hiv infection.
