2-Furan-2-yl-azepane is an ether with the molecular formula CH3OCH2CH2OCH2. It is a colorless liquid that has a boiling point of 151 °C and melting point of -251 °C. 2-Furan-2-yl-azepane is soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, and chloroform. When it reacts with a carboxylic acid, it forms an ester. The molecule can exist in two different conformations: the five membered ring can be rotated or not rotated. 2-Furan-2-yl-azepane has been used as a model for the study of carbonic acid derivatives.
