Description:

2-Bromo-1,4-difluoro-3-methoxybenzene (BDFMB) is a radiolabeled metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (mGlu2) allosteric modulator. BDFMB has been shown to have affinity for the mGlu2 receptor and is able to increase the binding of glutamate to this receptor. This drug may be useful in clinical studies as a radiotracer for imaging mGlu2 receptors in the brain. It has also been shown to be an allosteric modulator of the mGlu2 receptor, which may provide a new therapeutic option for treating depression and other disorders that are thought to involve mGlu2 receptors.
